GO India | Northview Church | Northview Church

We took our first GO Team to India in 2013. We partner with Jeevan Aadhar in Mumbai, India. The purpose of our partnership is to mobilize, equip, train and mentor the local Indian Church to bring transformative support to survivors of violent oppression.

Why Are We Going?

To seek justice. Right now, 35 million people are enslaved worldwide. Children, women and men are trapped in forced labor or sexual slavery. Millions are trapped in forms of modern slavery in India – more than anywhere else in the world.

Who Do We Partner With?

We partner with Jeevan Aadhar, a local Christian aftercare agency in Mumbai, India.

What Work Will We Be Doing?

The main purpose for our visit will be to support the local church and their efforts to seek justice for the oppressed. We will visit aftercare homes, host a two-day retreat for beneficiaries, host a prayer gathering for local church leaders and anti-trafficking agencies, and visit local churches throughout Mumbai.

How Do I Pay For This Trip?
Northview Outreach believes in growing our global community to serve not only as goers, but also as senders. We firmly believe it is in the best interest and health of the GO Team participant to ask others to be a part of their global community. Asking for support from family, friends, coworkers and neighbors allows for the impact of this GO Team trip to grow exponentially. As a department, we do not organize fundraisers or provide any financial assistance for applicants. Rest assured that we will coach you through and equip you with tools to help you be successful with your personal fundraising.

Are There Required Vaccinations?
Please contact your healthcare provider for more information and suggestions for necessary vaccinations no later than one month prior to leaving for India. Must have vaccinations: Hepatitis A or A/B Combo and Typhoid. Recommended vaccinations or prescriptions include: Tetanus, Anti-Malaria Rx, and Cipro (Anti-diarrhea Rx).

Who Can Go?
This trip is more discerning, because of the work we are doing with rescue victims. In addition to an application, criminal history background checks and a personal interview will be conducted before team members are confirmed. Participants must also obtain a valid passport. Passports that expire within six months of the travel dates will require a renewal. Indian visas are also required for travel. (Visas will be applied for through Northview Outreach.)
