Now Introducing Northview TV

Northview Church aired live for the first time on June 11 after Saturday Night Live on WTHR-TV Channel 13. WTHR is NBC’s affiliate in central Indiana. Every Sunday morning for the next year you will find this slot taken by Northview TV. This is a small step for TV and a large step for Northview Church.
The idea came to Northview’s Lead Pastor Steve Poe after he heard of other churches doing the same thing. He was intrigued at the idea of reaching people who may never set foot in a church or are far away from God. This time slot was a good choice for Northview TV because it may catch the eye of a night owl watching Saturday Night Live beforehand.
“We would love to see people come to Christ because of Northview TV. That would be our primary goal. We always hope that they’ll connect at some point with Northview Church. Our goal is to get them connected with God and where that takes them,” Communications Pastor Lauren Wright said.
Each show will consist of a 28-minute sermon that was cut down from the original 45-minute sermon that was given during a Weekend Service. Northview TV won’t follow the Weekend Service schedule for each sermon because they want to use the ones that translate well to the audience.
“As we continue to grow and become a bigger and more multisite church with more locations all over the city, we want to make the message accessible to everyone,” Wright said.
Wright hopes that she will be able to hear life-changing stories from people who were watching Saturday Night Live and just happened to catch the beginning of Northview TV and stayed on that channel. Who knows, maybe this will lead to a new member at Northview Church!
This post is entirely the opinion of this week’s writer and does not necessarily reflect the view of Northview Church as a whole.
